Oops! Summer Concert Schedule

In all our Fourth of July red, white and blue glory and excitement in announcing the start of our concert season we failed to mention the entire concert schedule, listed below.  We had told you about our July 5th opening concert, featuring The Skyla Burrell Blues Band, but we omitted the rest of our incredible summer entertainment line up.  Without further ado, here it is:

Saturday July 12th

The Willys

Finalists in 98.5 The Peak's Battle of the Classic Rock Bands. Get set for your favorite rock classics from the 60's and 70's.

Saturday July 19th

Make 'N' Changes

A wide variety of classics from the 50's through the 70's, and some of your favorite country hits.

Saturday July 26th

The WOW Brothers

These guys do it all!  Your favorites from the 60's to the 90's with a little Big Band to boot.

Saturday August 2nd

The Billy Hedrick Band

Enjoy your favorites from the Temptations, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, and other classics from the 50's and 60's.

Saturday August 9th

Traditions Unleashed

Country music at its best.

Saturday August 16th

The WOW Brothers

The second performance of The WOW Brothers!

Only the best groups play twice in one summer. This is one of the best- come get a second helping of this act.

Saturday August 23rd

Hanover Express

The sounds and vocal harmonies of bluegrass come to the Farm.

Saturday August 30th

The Skyla Burrell Blues Band

You will not want to miss this!

If the best way to start our concert season is with Skyla then obviously there cannot be a better way to finish our season than with an encore performance.  Skyla will be back to close the season, so be sure to circle this Saturday.

We want to remind you that we have a new concession stand located in our concert area.  This stand will have grilled foods, such as hot dogs and hamburgers, and all of your favorite varieties of chilled wines available, by the bottle or the glass.  So, if you already know your choice of wine and do not want to do any tasting, please help alleviate some pressure on the tasting room staff and purchase from me at the consession stand.  The stand is cash only, so make sure you are stocked up on greenbacks before you come see me.  I'll be there, with a spatula in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other.  Hope to see you soon!

ATTENTION CHARDONNAY ENTHUSIAISTS:

Of course you want to come to the winery on Saturday to hear the sound of The Willys, but we may have yet another temptation for you.  We will be releasing our Chardonnay this Friday and, let me tell you, it is delicious!  We had been sold out of Chardonnay for about a year.  I do not know how long this one will last (we have just over 100 cases), so come get yours this weekend.

Your friendly Event Coordinator,
Gavin Green

Home Wine-Making!

Tasting Room Report

Just in time for long, hot summer days, we now have our popular "Got Wine?"  shirts in a tank top version.  With the rhinestones, these will add a bit of glamour to any outfit, no matter the occasion, plus accentuate everyone's individual figure.  While you are here shopping for the tank top,  you might want to add the rhinestone "Wine Princess" hat to complete the outfit. After all, we are all wine princesses at one time or another, right?

Last Call for Home Wine-Making Classes!

There are only two opportunities left in 2008 to learn or hone your wine-making skills! Join us for a home wine-making class taught by John the Vintner on Sunday, August 10th or Saturday, October 18th, 2008. Classes are from 1-3 p.m. at the Farm Winery. In his usual humorous manner, John covers everything from opening the box of juice through bottling, storing and enjoying your creation! $25 per person; Price includes a special discount coupon on wine-making supplies. Advance reservations are required and class size is limited, so reserve now!
