We always
like to give you a heads up before one of our wines goes
out of stock.
We
have only a few cases of our Peach and
Sweet Catawba wines left in inventory,
and these will not be bottled again until the
fall.

Be part of
something record-setting!
What do
you do with 15 acres of pruned grapevines? In an effort
to be green, we will reuse our grapevines. Adams
County Winery is making the World's Largest Grapevine
wreath!
Come be
part of this monumental event. You are invited to come
out to help us build the gianormous wreath.
Wreath
making will happen Saturdays, April 10th, 17th &
24th 1pm - 4pm at the farm winery.
School groups, scout troops,
environmental clubs, and crafters are encouraged to
take part in this fun, green event. If you have
experience building grapevine wreaths, we would love
your assistance in leading volunteers. Even if you have
never done this before, come out and be part of
something "big".
On May
1st the World's Largest Grapevine Wreath finale
will take place. Check our website for
details. |
| Time to Prune the
Vineyard |
Every
Spring our vineyard staff spends countless hours pruning
our 15 aces of grapes by hand.
We
cut as much as 12 feet of last year's growth off each
grape vine. This is necessary for the grapes to attain
their best growth and produce the best quality grapes
possible. You may think of wine as just another bottle
of mass-produced alcohol that came out of a factory and
shipped to the store shelf. But, in fact, the flavor and
quality of wine is all determined by the grape crop as
it grows.
That is why at Adams County
Winery, we consider our business a
farm winery. We give lots of time and
attention to our vines because they are the real makers
of our great
wines. |

We just received
the results from the 2010 Pennsylvania Wine Competition,
and we are very proud of the results.
Our
two newest wines have received their first awards.
Rusty's Red (named after our
golden retriever) was awarded a silver medal, and
Scrapple (our Sweet Cranberry
Apple wine) took home a gold medal.
The annual competition, spsonsored by the
Pennsylvania Wine Association, allows wineries from
across the state to compete. Wines are judged by a panel
of experts.
Additional medal winners in this competition were
Tears of Gettysburg (gold), Rebel Red (silver),
Chardonnay
(bronze). |
